The Film Commission

Film in Iceland

Film in Iceland is the Icelandic Film Commission. It is run by Promote Iceland, a public-private partnership established to improve the competitiveness of Icelandic companies and to stimulate economic growth.

In recent years Iceland has been gaining a higher profile in the international film industry. Internationally acclaimed actors and directors have been working in Iceland with highly skilled local crews.

Film in Iceland's main emphasis is to introduce Iceland as an interesting location for foreign film makers and the possibility of applying for reimbursements of 20% of the costs incurred in the production of films and television programs in Iceland.

Film in Iceland can also provide film makers with a list of competent and experienced production service companies in Iceland, offering full range of services from location scouting to post production.

Film in Iceland's publication can be downloaded as a pdf file.
